Overview
Skyline Stack is a daily architecture guide for iPhone. It shows one famous building a day, asks three questions about it and adds a floor to a cartoon tower. The app has no servers of its own and does not collect personal information.
Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information. There are no accounts, sign-ins, contact forms, device identifiers, location access or crash reporting.
Data stored on your device
The app keeps the following in its local storage on your phone. It never leaves the device, except for the two requests described under Third-party services.
- Onboarding choices: favourite styles and regions, units, tower name and home skyline
- Your tower floors, studied landmarks, quiz scores and goals
- Your journal of studies and Photo window checks
- Saved forecasts (kept 1 hour) and Wikipedia summaries (kept 7 days) for offline reading
- Preferences: sound, haptics and reduced motion
How we use information
Locally stored data is used only to run the app on your device: choosing the Building of the Day, showing your tower, progress and goals. We do not sell, rent or share any data.
Third-party services
Two free public services are contacted, and only when you use the matching feature:
- Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com): when you open a landmark’s Photo window, the app requests a 3-day forecast for that landmark’s public coordinates (for example 48.8584, 2.2945 for the Eiffel Tower). Your own location is never sent. Weather data by Open-Meteo.com, CC BY 4.0.
- Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org): when you tap “Read more from Wikipedia”, the app requests the summary of that landmark’s article by its title. Text is CC BY-SA 4.0.
As with any web request, these services receive your IP address and basic browser information as part of the connection. The app adds no identifiers. Their own privacy policies apply to how they handle requests.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, does not use cookies and has no in-app purchases.
Children’s privacy
Skyline Stack collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or 16 where applicable). The content is general-audience architecture history.
Data retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device until you delete it. Use Settings → Your data → Reset everything to erase it, Clear saved downloads to remove cached forecasts and summaries, or delete the app to remove everything.
Your rights
Because all data is on your device, you have full control: you can view it in the app, export it as a JSON file (Settings → Your data → Export JSON) and erase it at any time. We hold no copy that could be accessed, corrected or deleted on request.
Security
Data is stored in the app’s private storage on your phone and protected by your device’s security. Requests to Open-Meteo and Wikipedia use encrypted HTTPS connections.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page and shipped in an app update, and the dates above will change.
